I am a wife to my summer camp sweetheart and Momma to a wee babe and two ridiculous hounds. My husband and I live in the Greater Vancouver area and I work for a non-profit children’s organization and as a photographer during my ‘off’ time. I was born with a cleft lip and palate and have both struggled with and found joy in the unique journey it has thrust upon me. The most incredible part of that journey was writing and publishing a book (‘Making Faces: Logan’s Cleft Lip and Palate Story’) that is gifted within Canada to all families of children born with this condition. I have been so moved when individuals have reached out and expressed how this book has helped demystify their experience and how beneficial it has been for their child to see someone go through what they are going through. It is an honour to have any part in making that process a little easier!

I am a thrifter, sporadic cleaner, understudy chef, outdoor enthusiast, impulse buyer and have a wicked weakness for vintage, velvet couches (just ask my husband – he’s pissed). This blog is a place I can be creative, overshare, get REAL real about all things marriage, motherhood and life in general and also offend people who have zero time for sarcasm.

  1. LOVE how real you are!

You sounds like my husband and I who just had our first baby a month ago. Being a mom ain’t no joke! It’s all the feels!
